Zoe-perry
Perry is the child of Laurie Metcalf (actor) and Jeff Perry (actor). The role of Jackie Harris was played by her mother in each of the two shows she starred in on Roseanne. The parents of her did not want her to take on acting roles until she was an adult, fearing the effects of stress. Perry admitted that she wasn't at ease in the stage during high school. She began acting to connect with new people in Northwestern University after switching from Boston University. Perry began her career as an actress in New York after graduation, getting small parts in Law & Order: Criminal Intent. Then, homesickness led to Perry return to California and pursue a career as a theater actress. Perry's mother and I appeared on Broadway with her for the play The Other Place, in 2013. Perry was in the show with the father of her character Kevin McKidd and Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize winning drama Anna Christie in the year 2015 on The Odyssey Theatre Ensemble, West Los Angeles. Perry was in nine episodes of ABC's thriller The Family during 2016. She had a regular role in the ABC political drama Scandal that starred her dad. She played an older Mary Cooper (Sheldon Cooper's mother) in Young Sheldon. This spin-off show of CBS's The Big Bang Theory was another younger portrayal of her mother. The character was chosen by auditions, even though she had a close connection with it.
