Andra Day and Andi Matichak

Cassandra Monique Batie aka Andra Day is a American R&B/Soul musician and singer. The accolades she has received include a Grammy Award as well as an Children's and Family Emmy Award and Golden Globe Award. She is also nominated for an Academy Award. Andra Day, a talented musician and singer with a background in blues, gospel and gospel who has a flair for the modern world is more than just an R&B throwback master. Her ability to combine her influences of jazz, gospel and blues in the R&B style is quite impressive. The album she released her debut, Cheers To The Fall (2015) is a smash success in the genre of R&B/hiphop which earned her a variety of Grammy and Academy Award nominations. Stand Up for Something (2017) was her contribution to Marshall's soundtrack, earned her both awards. Amen (2018) Make Your Troubles (2020), and her Golden Globe-winning performance in Billie Holiday, in The United States against Billie Holiday(2021) are continuing to create anticipation for Day's second full album. Andra Day was born Cassandra Monique Batie and grew in Edmonds Washington. While in San Diego, she attended the School of Creative and Performing Arts and performed at Church. She switched her attention towards the contemporary R&B and pop when she graduated and was later again drawn to soul and jazz singers she listened to as a child. Kai Millard Morris caught her performance and donated the music of Day to Stevie Wonder. Motown legendary Adrian Gurvitz then introduced Day to music industry veteran Adrian Gurvitz. Day who was linked to Gurvitz and Jeffrey Evans Buskin Label Day was a viral YouTube star and later signed with Warner Bros. In 2012 Day came out with Forever Mine as her debut track on YouTube. It was taken up and played on radio by many DJs. She then joined Warner Bros. Records. Adrian Gurvitz produced her first album, Cheers to celebrate the fall. It featured the hit song Rise Up that became the anthem for protests for social justice around all over the world. Day's album was nominated two times for Grammys. This included Best R&B Album. Day released The United States Vs. Billie Holiday in 2019, A concept album about the life and career of the jazz icon Billie Holiday. That same year she starred in a biopic on Holiday's life The United States vs. Billie Holiday (2021). Andi matichak (born August 25, 1970) is an American actor. She appeared first in TV shows such as Orange Is the New Black or Blue Bloods and then made her debut in the horror films Halloween and sequels. Andi Mattichak was born on May 3, 1994, in Framingham Mass.
